Adult dose

The recommended dosage of this drug is 1 tablet once per day, twice daily. The individual treatment regimens, efficacy, and tolerance of each patient should be considered while ensuring not to exceed the maximum recommended daily doses of 25 mg of Empagliflozin and 2000 mg of Metformin. Precautions

This drug is an anti-diabetic agent that helps in controlling blood sugar. However, it can cause a rare complication called severe lactic acidosis, so caution is needed. There is a risk of hypoglycemia when used with other anti-diabetic medications, so care should be taken. Patients with poor kidney function or acute kidney injury should not take this drug. It should also be avoided in the presence of serious illnesses such as acute infections, heart failure, and acute myocardial infarction. Before and after examinations using iodine-based radiocontrast agents, this drug should be discontinued and restarted only after kidney function has returned to normal. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid taking this drug for safety. Regular kidney function tests should be conducted because this drug can affect kidney function; special caution is necessary for the elderly or those showing signs of dehydration. There is a risk of hypoglycemia, so dosage adjustments may be necessary when used with insulin or sulfonylurea medications. Increased urination or the occurrence of urinary tract infections and genital infections may happen during treatment; any unusual symptoms should be reported to a healthcare provider. Prolonged use may cause Vitamin B12 deficiency, so it is advisable to check blood levels of Vitamin B12 periodically. Excessive alcohol intake should be avoided, as it may increase the risk of lactic acidosis. This drug should be discontinued for more than 48 hours before surgery and restarted after kidney function has recovered post-surgery. This drug is not recommended for children, and dosage adjustments should be made for the elderly based on their kidney function. In cases of overdose, there is a risk of lactic acidosis, and immediate medical attention should be sought. Store this drug out of reach of children and keep it in its original container.
