Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients allergic to the active ingredient or any other components. It is also not administered to patients with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Caution is needed when used with medications that can cause hypoglycemia, such as insulin or sulfonylureas, as there may be an increased risk of hypoglycemia. In such cases, it may be necessary to reduce the dose of insulin or insulin secretagogues. Experience with this medication is limited in patients with congestive heart failure, so it should be used with caution. Acute pancreatitis may occur during the use of this medication; therefore, if severe abdominal pain persists, the medication should be discontinued immediately, and a doctor should be consulted. A skin condition called bullous pemphigoid may develop, so if there are blisters or sores on the skin, the medication should be stopped, and a specialist should be consulted. This medication may cause hypoglycemic symptoms, so blood sugar levels should be checked frequently, and appropriate measures should be taken if hypoglycemic symptoms are suspected. The use of this medication is not recommended for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, especially since the drug may be excreted in breast milk during lactation. Safety and efficacy have not been sufficiently established for children under 10 years old or adolescents aged 10-17, so it is not recommended for them. Elderly patients and those with impaired renal and liver function can use it without special dose adjustments. In cases of overdose, the unabsorbed medication should be removed from the gastrointestinal tract, and clinical symptoms should be monitored, with appropriate treatment provided as necessary. Keep out of reach of children and do not transfer to other containers to ensure safety and maintain drug quality.
