Improvement of blood glucose control in type 2 diabetes
This drug is used to help control blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. It is effective for those who are starting diabetes treatment for the first time or for those who find it difficult to control blood glucose levels with monotherapy. If blood glucose control is insufficient with monotherapy of metformin or sitagliptin, or in cases where both drugs are combined, this drug can be used as a substitute for treatment. Additionally, it is used in combination with metformin when there is insufficient improvement with metformin and sulfonylureas, or metformin and thiazolidinediones. In cases where blood glucose control is difficult even with insulin and metformin combination therapy, this drug can also be administered to aid blood glucose management. It is an effective drug for improving blood glucose control in various situations.
This drug is generally taken twice a day with food, with a gradual increase in dosage. 1. For patients not currently being treated with metformin: Take this drug 50/500 mg, 1 tablet twice daily, and increase to 50/1000 mg, 1 tablet twice daily. 2. For patients already on metformin treatment: Sitagliptin 50 mg twice daily (total 100 mg) and the existing metformin dose.
