This medication is used for the treatment of primary hypercholesterolemia, especially heterozygous familial and non-familial types, as well as mixed dyslipidemia. It reduces elevated total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, Apo-B protein, and triglycerides, while increasing the level of HDL cholesterol, the good cholesterol. It is primarily used as an adjunct to dietary modifications to aid in cholesterol management. By doing so, it contributes to reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, it is effective in improving cholesterol and lipid levels.
