This medication is used to improve blood sugar control in patients with type 2 diabetes by assisting with diet and exercise. It can be taken alone or in combination with other diabetes medications to enhance effectiveness. This helps to manage blood sugar more reliably.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

The recommended dose of this medication is 5mg once a day. It can be administered regardless of meals.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients who have a hypersensitivity to the active ingredient or other components. It should also not be administered to patients with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Use with insulin or sulfonylureas, which can induce hypoglycemia, may increase the risk of hypoglycemia, so caution is required. Use of this medication is not recommended for patients with heart failure, particularly those with severe heart failure, and should be administered with care in mild heart failure cases.
