Improvement of blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes
This medication is used to help control blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes when taken together with sitagliptin and dapagliflozin. It can effectively manage blood sugar levels when administered alongside dietary and exercise therapy. This improves blood sugar management and aids in diabetes treatment.
This medication can be administered to patients taking 100 mg of sitagliptin and 10 mg of dapagliflozin, one tablet once a day without regard to meals. The tablet should be swallowed whole.
This medication contains sitagliptin and dapagliflozin and is used in the treatment of diabetes. Patients who have had allergic reactions should not take this medication prior to use. Special caution is needed as serious hypersensitivity reactions such as anaphylaxis, angioedema, and skin conditions have been reported. Careful observation for symptoms of pancreatitis should be maintained during administration, and if pancreatitis is suspected, usage should be immediately discontinued and consulted with a healthcare professional. This drug is not suitable for those with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Patients with genetic issues related to lactose or those undergoing dialysis should also avoid use. Particularly, the dapagliflozin component may cause fluid volume depletion and renal function deterioration, therefore caution should be exercised in elderly patients or those with reduced kidney function or those taking diuretics, with renal function and blood pressure closely monitored before and during treatment. This medication may lead to genital infections and urinary tract infections, so immediate treatment is required if any infection symptoms appear. There is a risk of hypoglycemia, so when taken with insulin or sulfonylureas, be alert for hypoglycemia symptoms and adjust the dosage if necessary. Furthermore, serious skin disorders, arthralgia, and bullous skin diseases may occur rarely, so report any abnormal symptoms to a healthcare professional immediately. Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding is not recommended, and if pregnancy is confirmed, discontinue use immediately. Safety and efficacy in children and adolescents under 18 years of age have not been established. In case of overdose, immediate medical action is required, and some components may be removed through dialysis. During the use of this medication, caution is required when driving or operating machines due to the risk of accidents caused by hypoglycemia. Lastly, store this medication in its original container, out of reach of children, and it is advisable to not change the container to maintain quality.
