Precautions

This medication is used for the treatment of diabetes and contains the ingredients Sitagliptin and Dapagliflozin. First, while taking this medication, there may be allergic reactions, so if symptoms such as skin rash, itching, swelling, or difficulty breathing occur, stop taking it immediately and consult a doctor. Additionally, acute pancreatitis, a serious side effect causing inflammation of the pancreas, has been rarely reported; if symptoms such as abdominal pain or vomiting occur, visit a hospital immediately. This medication requires special caution in patients with impaired kidney function or those on dialysis; some patients may need dose adjustments. There may be a risk of decreased fluid volume or hypotension, so particularly elderly patients or those on diuretics should periodically check their blood pressure and fluid status. This medication can increase the risk of genital infections and urinary tract infections, so prompt treatment is necessary if any infection symptoms appear. Hypoglycemia may occur, so when taken alongside insulin or sulfonylureas, one should be aware of the symptoms of hypoglycemia and may require dose adjustments if necessary. It is recommended that pregnant or breastfeeding women do not use this medication, especially during breastfeeding, as it may affect the baby. It is best not to use this medication in children under 18 years as safety and efficacy have not been established. In case of overdose, visit a medical institution immediately for appropriate treatment; some medications may be removed by dialysis, but general symptomatic treatment is necessary. Lastly, caution is needed when driving or operating machinery during treatment due to the risk of hypoglycemia.
