This medication is used to improve blood glucose control in patients with type 2 diabetes. It is administered in conjunction with dietary and exercise therapy to assist in blood glucose management. It can be used alone in patients with no previous experience of diabetes treatment, and can serve as an alternative when blood glucose control is difficult with monotherapy using metformin or sitagliptin. It is also used in combination with metformin and sulfonylureas, or metformin and thiazolidinediones when blood glucose control is insufficient. This medication can also be used alongside insulin and metformin when they are ineffective. It is a medication that helps improve blood glucose control in various cases.

How to take

Precautions

This medication is used for the treatment of diabetes and contains both sitagliptin and metformin. When taking this medication, hypersensitivity reactions may occur, so if symptoms such as skin rash or difficulty breathing appear, stop taking it immediately and inform a doctor. There is a risk of serious pancreatic conditions, such as pancreatitis, so quickly consult a healthcare professional if symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting occur. Patients with impaired renal function or those with severe infections or dehydration should not take this medication, and those scheduled for surgery should also temporarily discontinue its use.
