Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. For example, patients allergic to this drug or any of its components, those taking certain antiviral medications, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and patients with lactose intolerance or specific genetic metabolic disorders should not take this medication. Additionally, patients with liver or kidney dysfunction, elderly patients, and those with hypersensitivity or allergies to the dye Sodium Yellow No. 4 included in this drug should use this medication cautiously. While taking this medication, side effects such as dyspepsia, diarrhea, nausea, abdominal discomfort, chronic gastritis, skin rash, itching, headaches, muscle pain, and others may occur. Rarely, various symptoms can appear in multiple areas of the body, so if any unusual symptoms occur, consult a healthcare professional. This medication is an acid-suppressing drug and may slightly increase the risk of gastrointestinal bacterial infections due to reduced gastric acid. Especially in hospitalized patients, the risk of diarrhea caused by Clostridium difficile may increase, so if diarrhea persists, notify a healthcare provider. Prolonged high-dose use of this medication may increase the risk of osteoporosis-related fractures; therefore, patients at risk of fractures should regularly check their bone health status. Also, prolonged use for more than three months may lead to hypomagnesemia, so magnesium levels should be periodically tested, and supplementation should be done if necessary. This medication can alter stomach acidity, affecting the absorption of other medications, so caution is needed when used in conjunction with certain antiviral drugs. Pregnant women should avoid using this medication, and breastfeeding women should discontinue breastfeeding while taking this medication. Safety and efficacy in children and adolescents have not been sufficiently established, so caution is advised. Finally, this medication should be stored out of the reach of children, and it is best to avoid transferring it to other containers to maintain its quality.
