Improvement of blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes
This drug helps patients with type 2 diabetes effectively control their blood sugar along with diet and exercise therapy. It is used when they have never received other diabetes medications before or when it is difficult to control blood sugar with monotherapy alone. It can also be used when sufficient effect is not achieved with monotherapy of Metformin or Sitagliptin, or to replace combination therapy of these two medications. If blood sugar control is insufficient even with combination therapy of Metformin and sulfonylureas, Metformin and thiazolidinediones, and insulin and Metformin, the addition of this drug can be applied. In summary, this drug is used to improve blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes.
This drug is generally taken twice a day with food, and the dosage is gradually increased to reduce gastrointestinal adverse effects caused by Metformin. 1. Patients not currently being treated with Metformin: Take this drug 50/500 mg 1 tablet twice daily, and may increase to 50/1000 mg 1 tablet twice daily. 2.
