Improvement of blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes
This drug helps control blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes and is used as an adjunct to diet and exercise. It may be used alone or, when it is difficult to achieve sufficient blood sugar control as monotherapy in patients who have never used diabetes medication, it can be taken in combination with metformin. Additionally, it improves blood sugar control when used in conjunction with metformin, sulfonylureas, or insulin therapy when these treatments are not effective. It is effectively used in patients who do not achieve good blood sugar control with various combinations of medications. Therefore, this drug plays an important role in assisting blood sugar control in patients with type 2 diabetes and improves blood sugar management.
The recommended dose of this medication is 5 mg once daily. It can be taken regardless of meals.
This drug should not be used in patients who have allergies to the active ingredient or other components. It is also safe to avoid administering it to patients with type 1 diabetes or those with diabetic ketoacidosis. When using this medication, caution is necessary when taken with other drugs that can cause hypoglycemia. In particular, the risk of hypoglycemia may increase when combined with insulin or sulfonylureas, so dose adjustment may be needed. Experience with this drug in patients with heart failure is limited, so it should be administered cautiously. Acute pancreatitis symptoms may occur, so if abdominal pain or similar symptoms appear, consult a physician immediately. Skin conditions resembling bullous pemphigoid may occur, so if there are blisters or erosion on the skin, discontinue use immediately and consult a specialist. This drug has been reported to cause various side effects such as hypoglycemia, rash, cough, constipation, etc., and any abnormal symptoms should be reported to a healthcare provider. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid using this drug as its safety has not been established. The safety and efficacy for children under 10 years old or adolescents aged 10 to 17 have not been sufficiently confirmed, so it is not recommended. In elderly patients or those with impaired kidney or liver function, it can be used without special dose adjustments, but the condition should be carefully monitored. In case of overdose, measures should be taken to prevent the absorption of the drug in the gastrointestinal tract, symptoms should be monitored, and appropriate treatment should be received if necessary. This drug should be stored out of the reach of children, and transferring it to other containers should be avoided as it may lead to quality degradation and accident risks.

This drug should be stored in a sealed container to protect it from air and moisture. It is advisable to maintain a storage temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius.
