Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

This medication allows for an administration of 1 tablet once daily for patients receiving sitagliptin 100 mg and dapagliflozin 10 mg, regardless of meals. The tablet should be swallowed whole.

Precautions

This medication contains two ingredients, sitagliptin and dapagliflozin. Firstly, sitagliptin can rarely cause serious allergic reactions, so symptoms such as skin conditions or angioedema may occur. Acute pancreatitis may also occur, so if symptoms such as abdominal pain or indigestion develop, immediate consultation with a doctor is necessary. Dapagliflozin can cause a decrease in body fluid volume and renal function, so it should be used cautiously, especially in patients with poor renal function or elderly patients. This medication can also increase the risk of genital infections and urinary tract infections, so immediate treatment should be sought if symptoms of infection appear. This medication is not used in patients with type 1 diabetes, patients with diabetic ketoacidosis, or patients undergoing dialysis. It is recommended that pregnant or breastfeeding women do not take this medication. Furthermore, there is a risk of hypoglycemia, so dosage adjustments may be necessary when used with other hypoglycemic agents such as insulin or sulfonylureas. It is important to regularly monitor blood sugar changes, fluid status, renal function, and symptoms of infection while taking this medication. If severe pain, rash, breathing difficulties, swelling, severe hypoglycemic symptoms, or other abnormal symptoms occur after taking the medication, immediate medical attention should be sought. This medication has not been established for safety and efficacy in children, and regular renal function tests are recommended for the elderly. Lastly, this medication does not significantly affect the ability to drive or operate machinery, but caution should be exercised as hypoglycemic symptoms may occur. It is safe to take this medication according to a regular examination and under the doctor's direction.
