This medication is used to assist with blood sugar control in patients with type 2 diabetes. Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

This medication can be administered to patients taking 100 mg of sitagliptin and 10 mg of dapagliflozin once daily without regard to meals. The tablet should be swallowed whole.

Precautions

This medication contains sitagliptin and dapagliflozin and is used for diabetes treatment. Firstly, this medication can rarely cause serious allergic reactions; therefore, if symptoms such as skin rash, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face or neck occur after taking the medication, you should immediately discontinue use and consult a doctor. Additionally, there have been reports of a serious side effect called acute pancreatitis, which is inflammation of the pancreas. If symptoms such as upper abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting occur after taking this medication, seek medical attention promptly. This medication is not administered to patients with type 1 diabetes or those with diabetic ketoacidosis who have difficulty controlling blood sugar, nor to patients on dialysis. Be aware that the risk of genital infections or urinary tract infections may increase during use, so any symptoms such as itching, pain, or redness should be reported immediately. Safety and efficacy in children under 18 years of age have not been established; thus, it should not be used in this population.
