Improvement of (hypertension, dyslipidemia) and reduction of cardiovascular disease risk
This medication is used for patients who need to manage both hypertension and hypercholesterolemia simultaneously. Amlodipine and valsartan help effectively lower blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension who find it difficult to control blood pressure with monotherapy. Rosuvastatin is used as an adjunct for patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia who are not controlled by diet and exercise. It also slows the progression of atherosclerosis and reduces risks associated with cardiovascular diseases, stroke, myocardial infarction, and arterial revascularization procedures. Therefore, this combination medication is used to improve cardiovascular health by managing both blood pressure and blood lipid levels.
This medication should be taken once daily, one tablet with water. It is recommended to take it at the same time every day if possible (e.g., before breakfast). The dosing of the amlodipine/valsartan combination should be individualized for each patient. The amlodipine/valsartan combination is administered at the following doses when blood pressure is not controlled with monotherapy: ㆍ5/80 milligrams: Amlodipine 5 milligrams or Valsartan 80 milligrams as monotherapy.
This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it should be discontinued immediately once pregnancy is confirmed.
