Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

This medication may be administered to patients taking 100 mg of sitagliptin and 10 mg of dapagliflozin at a dose of 1 tablet once daily, irrespective of meals. The tablet should be swallowed whole.

Precautions

This medication contains sitagliptin and dapagliflozin and is used for diabetes treatment. First, serious allergic reactions may occur while taking this medication, so if symptoms of hypersensitivity such as skin rash or difficulty breathing appear, immediately stop taking the medication and consult a physician. Additionally, this medication may cause a serious pancreatic inflammation known as pancreatitis. If severe abdominal pain or vomiting occurs, promptly inform medical personnel. This medication should not be administered to certain patients, such as those who are allergic to the ingredients or patients with type 1 diabetes, those undergoing renal dialysis, and patients with lactose intolerance. Use with caution in patients with low fluid volume or poor kidney function, as hypotension or worsening renal function may occur; regular kidney function tests and blood pressure monitoring are necessary. This medication may increase the risk of genital and urinary tract infections. If symptoms of infection (itching, pain, discharge, etc.) arise, immediate treatment is required. Due to its blood sugar-lowering effect, there is a risk of hypoglycemia when taken with insulin or other blood sugar-lowering agents, so patients should be aware of hypoglycemic symptoms and may need dose adjustments as necessary. It is recommended that pregnant or breastfeeding women avoid this medication, and if pregnancy is confirmed, discontinue use immediately. Elderly patients or those with impaired kidney function should adjust the dose of this medication and regularly monitor kidney function. In the case of overdose, there is no specific antidote, so it is crucial to receive appropriate treatment based on symptoms. Finally, caution should be taken while driving or operating machinery during treatment, as there is a risk of hypoglycemia.
