Adult dose

This medication must be taken only after implementing an appropriate lipid-lowering dietary regimen, which should continue throughout the treatment period. This medication should be taken with food to avoid gastrointestinal discomfort. For hypertriglyceridemia, the usual initial dose is 2g per day, which can be increased to 4g daily if necessary. It is taken once or twice daily.

This medication should not be used by individuals allergic to its ingredients or children under 18 years of age. Caution is needed in individuals at high risk of bleeding due to severe injuries or surgeries, patients with poor liver function, and those allergic to fish. Taking this medication may result in various side effects such as indigestion, dizziness, headache, and skin rash, and rarely can lead to severe heart problems or bleeding. It is important to check triglyceride levels before starting treatment, and to follow a weight management and dietary regimen concurrently. Regular blood tests should be performed to monitor triglycerides, liver function, and cholesterol levels during treatment, and if there is no effect after 2 months, the medication should be discontinued. This medication can affect blood clotting, so bleeding risks should be monitored when taken with anticoagulants or aspirin. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should use this medication cautiously after consulting a doctor, as the effects on the fetus or infant are not clear. Safety and efficacy have not been established in children, so it is not recommended for use in this population. Elderly patients also require special consideration, and symptoms of overdose should be treated appropriately based on their severity. This medication should be stored out of reach of children and should not be transferred to another container for safety.
