Esoprazole Magnesium Trihydrate Tablets

Adult dose

This medication should be swallowed with liquid such as water and should not be chewed or crushed. The dosage is 1 tablet once a day taken orally.

Child dose

There is no experience administering this drug to children under 12 years of age.

This medication should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to this drug, its ingredients, or benzimidazole derivatives, or those who have previously experienced such reactions. Additionally, it should not be administered to patients taking certain antiviral drugs such as atazanavir and nelfinavir, nursing women, or patients using medications containing rilpivirine. Various adverse reactions may occur during the use of this drug, although infrequently, headaches, abdominal pain, diarrhea, skin rashes, muscle pain, and dizziness have been reported. Rarely, serious side effects such as blood abnormalities, liver dysfunction, severe allergic reactions, and hypomagnesemia may occur, so immediate consultation with a doctor is necessary if symptoms arise. Regular examinations are necessary for long-term use of this drug, especially if taken for more than one year, to monitor magnesium levels and fracture risk. This medication may reduce gastric acid, leading to increased bacterial growth in the gastrointestinal tract and a higher risk of infection; therefore, if persistent diarrhea or gastrointestinal symptoms occur, it must be reported to healthcare providers. Due to numerous drug interactions, especially with anticoagulants, antivirals, antibiotics, anticonvulsants, etc., it is essential to inform the physician if such medications are being used, and careful monitoring during medication administration is required. Data on the safety of this drug during pregnancy is limited, so it should be used with caution during pregnancy, and it is advisable for nursing women not to take this medication. In the case of overdose, as there is no specific antidote, appropriate treatment should be provided according to symptoms, and it is crucial to keep it out of reach of children. This medication must be used according to the doctor's instructions with the minimum dose and treatment duration, and healthcare providers should be consulted immediately if abnormal symptoms occur.

Serious side effects

Rash, angioedema, anaphylactic reactions, shock, jaundice, hepatitis, liver failure, encephalopathy, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, acute generalised exanthematous pustulosis, drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS syndrome), severe edema, Clostridium difficile associated diarrhea, rhabdomyolysis, severe allergic reactions, severe skin reactions, lupus erythematosus
