This medication should be taken at least 1 hour before meals on an empty stomach. Swallow it whole with at least half a cup of water. Do not chew or crush. Take 1 time a day, 40/800 mg for 4 weeks. If symptoms persist or are not resolved, continue for another 4 weeks. For long-term maintenance therapy, take 1 time a day, 20/800 mg. For symptom treatment in gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis, take 1 time a day, 20/800 mg. If symptoms are not controlled after 4 weeks, further medical consultation is needed.

This medication is used for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and erosive reflux esophagitis. It is also effective for long-term maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence in patients with esophagitis. It helps relieve symptoms in patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis. This can improve the patient's discomfort and enhance their quality of life. It is used to effectively treat various symptoms related to gastroesophageal reflux disease.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication should be taken at least 1 hour before meals on an empty stomach. Swallow it whole with at least half a cup of water. Do not chew or crush. Take 1 time a day, 40/800 mg for 4 weeks. If symptoms persist or are not resolved, continue for another 4 weeks. For long-term maintenance therapy, take 1 time a day, 20/800 mg. For symptom treatment in gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis, take 1 time a day, 20/800 mg. If symptoms are not controlled after 4 weeks, further medical consultation is needed.

Precautions

This medication should not be administered to certain patients. For instance, patients with allergies to this medication or its components, those taking certain antiviral drugs, nursing women, and patients with a history of heart disease should not use this medication. Additionally, patients with liver or kidney function issues, the elderly, patients with weakened heart or lung function, and those with electrolyte imbalances should use this medication with caution. In particular, this medication contains sodium bicarbonate, which requires caution in patients needing restriction of sodium intake or those with electrolyte abnormalities. This medication can cause various side effects. Common symptoms include headache, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and nausea; rarer reports have included blood disorders, allergic reactions, liver function abnormalities, skin rashes, and muscle weakness. If muscle pain or weakness becomes severe, consult a doctor immediately. Long-term use of this medication may require regular examinations, as there may be a slight increase in the risk of gastrointestinal bacterial infections. Furthermore, patients with osteoporosis or a high risk of fractures should consider the fracture risk when treated with this medication. This medication can interact with other drugs, so if you are currently taking other medications, make sure to inform your doctor or pharmacist and seek advice. Caution is required particularly when using in conjunction with drugs affecting blood clotting, antiviral agents, certain antibiotics, and immunosuppressants.
