Precautions
This medication should not be taken by patients with hypercalcemia (excessive calcium in the blood), sarcoidosis (a systemic inflammatory disease of unknown cause), or those with kidney disease. Individuals who have had allergic reactions to any of the ingredients in this medication should not use it. Infants under 12 months old, patients with kidney stones, and individuals with severe renal failure should not take this medication. While taking this medication, it is advisable to avoid taking it simultaneously with phosphates, calcium salts, oral tetracycline antibiotics, antacids, and medications such as levodopa. Children under 1 year old, patients undergoing medical treatment, individuals exposed to sunlight and consuming a normal diet, pregnant women or those who may become pregnant, breastfeeding mothers, premature infants, and individuals with gastrointestinal diseases or cardiovascular and circulatory issues, and kidney disorders should consult with a specialist before taking this medication. Caution is also advised for patients with hypoproteinemia, those taking cardiac glycosides, and individuals with a history of kidney stones. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, inflammation of the mouth, constipation, low blood pressure, facial flushing, irregular heartbeat, skin rash or red spots, cardiac arrest, central nervous system dysfunction, dermatitis, foul odor during sweating or breathing, hair loss, anxiety, gastrointestinal disturbances, epigastric pain, or pulmonary edema occur while taking this medication, you must stop taking it immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Extended high-dose use of vitamin B6 may lead to neurological abnormalities, while excessive administration of vitamin B12 may cause blood abnormalities. High-dose intake may prompt gastrointestinal ulcers, glucose intolerance, hyperuricemia, and liver damage, while taking large doses may result in gastrointestinal symptoms, hypernatremia, congestive heart failure, and edema. Long-term use may increase the risk of hypercalcemia and stone disease, and caution should be exercised when taken with specific diuretics, as hyperkalemia may result. If symptoms do not improve after excess intake or after taking for more than one month, it is essential to consult a healthcare professional. Strict adherence to the prescribed dosage and administration is required, and guardians must supervise when administering to children. This medication may cause urine to turn yellow, which can affect clinical test results; thus, it should be noted. It is advisable to avoid tannin-containing teas like green tea and black tea during or around the time of medication use. This medication should be stored out of the reach of children, kept in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and stored in a sealed container to prevent misuse.
