Precautions

This medication can dangerously lower blood pressure when taken with nitrate medications or NO donors, so patients taking such medications must consult their doctor. Patients with heart disease must thoroughly check their heart condition before taking this drug, and those with poor cardiovascular conditions are not recommended to engage in sexual activity, thus should avoid using this medication. This medication can temporarily lower blood pressure by dilating blood vessels, so caution is needed when used by patients with unstable blood pressure or cardiovascular diseases. It is essential to check before taking this medication for any recent serious heart issues, hypotension, hypertension, pigmentary retinopathy, etc., and it is safe not to administer this to such patients. If an erection lasts longer than 4 hours or is accompanied by pain, medical attention should be sought immediately, as untreated cases may cause damage to penile tissue. Patients taking certain medications, particularly protease inhibitors like Ritonavir, may experience a significant increase in the drug's blood levels, necessitating dosage adjustments. Formulations containing aspartame should not be given to patients with phenylketonuria, and intake of this component should be limited. This medication should not be used by those with allergies to the drug or its components, patients regularly taking nitrate medications, those with unstable cardiovascular conditions, patients with severe liver failure, those under 18 years of age, and women, or patients taking specific other medications. Anatomical abnormalities of the penis, bleeding disorders, elderly patients, those with kidney failure or liver failure, and patients with diabetic retinopathy should be administered cautiously, and dosage should be lowered if necessary. Common side effects include headache, flushing, dyspepsia, dizziness, visual disturbances, and eye pain. Rarely, serious cardiovascular adverse reactions or issues with vision and hearing have been reported. Sexual activity itself can put stress on the heart, so if there are cardiovascular conditions, patients should consult their doctor and check their condition before taking this medication. This medication should not be taken with other erectile dysfunction treatments due to potential drug interactions that might alter blood levels, so inform your doctor or pharmacist about any other medications being used. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not use this medication, and it should not be administered to children. In cases of overdose, side effects may worsen, so it is crucial to adhere to prescribed dosages and methods; seek medical consultation if side effects are severe. This medication should be stored out of reach of children and should not be transferred into another container as it may affect quality.
