Treatment of erectile dysfunction
This medication is used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction and is effective when sexual stimulation occurs. Additionally, this medication is not indicated for use in women. It helps improve erectile dysfunction.
For oral administration. Use in adult men The recommended dose of this medicine is 10mg, taken with or without food before anticipated sexual activity. For patients in whom tadalafil 10mg does not provide sufficient effect, 20 mg may be tried. This medicine may be taken at least 30 minutes before sexual activity. The maximum recommended frequency of administration is once daily. Immediately after removing this medicine from its individual package, place it on the tongue and allow it to dissolve; take without water. Long-term safety after extended daily dosing has not been established, and because the effect of this medicine usually lasts for more than a day, continuous daily administration of this medicine is strongly not recommended. [See section 1. Warnings and section 11.1) Pharmacodynamic Properties] Use in older men No dosage adjustments are required in older patients. Use in men with renal impairment No dosage adjustment is required in patients with mild to moderate renal impairment. The maximum recommended dose in patients with severe renal impairment is 10mg. [See section 11.2) Pharmacokinetic Properties]. Use in men with hepatic impairment The recommended dose is 10mg, taken with or without food before anticipated sexual activity. Since clinical data on the safety of this medicine in patients with severe hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh Class C) are limited, the physician should carefully evaluate the individual benefit/risk when prescribing. There are no data on administration of doses higher than 10mg to patients with hepatic impairment. [See section 3. Patients Requiring Caution and section 11.2) Pharmacokinetic Properties]. Use in men with diabetes No dosage adjustment is required in patients with diabetes.
This medicine must not be used in persons under 18 years of age.
This medication is used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction and must be taken only after a doctor's diagnosis and physical examination to identify the underlying cause. Sexual activity can put a strain on the heart; therefore, patients with cardiovascular diseases should exercise particular caution. If any heart-related symptoms appear during sexual activity, it should be stopped immediately and a doctor should be informed. This medication can rarely cause erections lasting more than 4 hours or priapism accompanied by pain; if such symptoms occur, immediate medical attention is necessary. While taking this medication, it should not be used in conjunction with any nitrate medicines or NO donors, as this can lead to excessive drops in blood pressure. Patients with serious cardiovascular diseases such as myocardial infarction, angina pectoris, heart failure, or stroke, or those with a recent history of such conditions, should not take this medication as it can be dangerous. Patients with hereditary retinal diseases or certain eye conditions are also advised not to use this medication. Using this medication with other erectile dysfunction treatments is not recommended due to the lack of established safety and efficacy. Patients with severely impaired kidney or liver function should use this medication cautiously, as it may lead to blood pressure drops when used alongside some antihypertensives. Common side effects include headache, dyspepsia, back pain, muscle pain, flushing, and others, which are mostly mild or temporary. Rarely, serious side effects such as heart-related adverse reactions, reduced vision or hearing, skin rash, etc., may occur. If any unusual symptoms arise, immediate consultation with a doctor is necessary. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, as well as children, should not use this medication. The effects on driving or operating machinery are minimal, but caution is advised as dizziness may occur. In case of overdose, immediate medical attention should be sought, as blood dialysis has little effect on the removal of this medication. Store this medication out of reach of children, and keep it in its original packaging for safety. As this medication is metabolized by specific enzymes, drug interactions may occur with some medications, so consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is recommended. Taking this medication with alcohol may increase blood pressure drops or dizziness, so it’s best to avoid excessive drinking. This medication is effective only when sexual stimulation occurs, and the effect starts approximately 16 minutes after taking it, lasting up to 36 hours.
