Vitamin D is a nutrient needed during certain periods such as pregnancy, breastfeeding, growth, and old age, helping to promote healthy bone and dental development and used to prevent rickets. This drug is also used to improve calcium deficiency states and effectively provide calcium. Therefore, it is effective in maintaining bone health and addressing calcium deficiency issues.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults and children aged 8 years and older: take 1 tablet once a day

Child dose

Children aged 8 years and older: take 1 tablet once a day

Precautions

This drug should not be used by patients with hypercalcemia, patients with sarcoidosis, which is an unknown cause systemic inflammatory disease, and patients with kidney disease. Additionally, patients with allergic reactions to this drug or its ingredients, infants under 12 months old, patients with kidney stones, and those with severe renal failure should not take this drug. This drug contains lactose, so patients with genetic conditions such as galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not use it. While taking this drug, it is advised to avoid medications like phosphates, calcium salts, oral tetracycline antibiotics, and antacids. Patients receiving treatment, children who are exposed to a lot of sunlight, pregnant women or women who may become pregnant, breastfeeding mothers, premature infants, and infants should consult with a specialist before taking this drug. Care should be taken because vitamin D can be secreted in breast milk, causing hypercalcemia in newborns. Patients with heart or circulatory problems, kidney issues, hypoproteinemia, those receiving cardiac glycosides, and patients with a history of kidney stones should also consult before taking. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, low blood pressure, flushing, abnormal heartbeats, or skin rashes occur while taking this drug, its use should be immediately stopped and a specialist should be consulted. Symptoms such as gastrointestinal disorders, hypernatremia, congestive heart failure, and edema may occur in case of overdose. Long-term use may lead to hypercalcemia and stone formation. When taken with aldosterone antagonists or triamterene, hyperkalemia may occur, so caution is advised. Adhere to the proper dosage and administer to children under the supervision of an adult. It is advisable to avoid teas rich in tannins, such as green tea or black tea, while taking this drug. This drug should be stored out of reach of children, away from direct sunlight, in a cool, dry place in a tightly sealed container. Quality should be maintained by not transferring to another container.
