This medication is used to treat male pattern hair loss in adult men, specifically androgenetic alopecia. Precautions

This medication should not be used in pediatric patients or women. Especially, women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not handle broken pieces of this medication, as it can be absorbed through the skin and pose a risk to the fetus. This medication is used for the treatment of male pattern hair loss and benign prostatic hyperplasia, and since it is primarily metabolized by the liver, caution should be exercised in patients with impaired liver function. During the use of this medication, mental symptoms such as depression, mood swings, and in severe cases, suicidal thoughts may occur; if such symptoms arise, immediate consultation with a healthcare professional is recommended. Sexual dysfunction, such as decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, and ejaculation disturbances have been reported; if these side effects occur, it is important to discontinue the medication and consult a doctor. Pregnant women should not take or come into contact with this medication, especially as it may affect the genital development of male fetuses, requiring special caution. This medication contains lactose, so patients with lactose intolerance should not take it. For elderly patients aged 65 years or older, the effectiveness of this medication has not been sufficiently proven; however, dose adjustment is not needed. During the use of this medication, prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels may decrease in blood tests, so caution is advised in interpreting the test results. There is no specific antidote in case of overdose, but serious side effects have not been reported in clinical trials at high doses. This medication should be kept out of the reach of children and transferring it to other containers should be avoided as it may adversely affect quality. Although clinically significant interactions with other medications have not been reported, it is advisable to consult with a doctor or pharmacist if taking other medications. During treatment, if changes or pain in the breasts or lumps appear, the doctor should be informed immediately, and decreased semen volume may be observed but often does not significantly impede normal sexual function. Long-term use may increase the risk of high-grade prostate cancer in some patients, so regular check-ups are necessary.
