(Hypertension, Dyslipidemia) Improvement and Reduction of Cardiovascular Disease Risk
This drug is effective for patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled, using a combination of amlodipine and valsartan. Additionally, it is used as an adjunct to dietary therapy in patients with hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia through rosuvastatin. This medicine lowers total cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol levels, helping to delay the progression of atherosclerosis and reduce the risks of cardiovascular disease, stroke, myocardial infarction, and revascularization procedures. Therefore, it can be beneficial for patients with concurrent hypertension and dyslipidemia.
Take 1 tablet once daily with water. It is recommended to take it at the same time every day (e.g., before breakfast). The amlodipine/valsartan combination can be switched to a combination therapy if blood pressure is not controlled after dosage adjustments of the individual components or with monotherapy. Rosuvastatin can be taken at any time of the day, regardless of meals, once daily. The initial dose is 5 milligrams, and the maintenance dose is 1.
This drug may cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. It should not be used in individuals allergic to the ingredients in this drug or similar medications, in pregnant or breastfeeding women, or in patients with severe liver or kidney disease. Patients with sodium or fluid depletion may experience hypotension, so they should be well evaluated before taking the drug and follow their doctor's instructions. Patients with high potassium levels or those taking other medications that can increase potassium should monitor their potassium levels frequently and be cautious. Caution is also needed for patients with renal vascular problems, those who have recently received a kidney transplant, or those with a history of angioedema when using this drug. Particular caution is required for patients with heart diseases, such as heart failure or post-myocardial infarction, and those with aortic stenosis. Patients at risk of muscle disorders or myopathy should be closely monitored for any muscle-related symptoms when receiving this medication. This drug contains Yellow No. 5 dye, so patients allergic to this ingredient should use it cautiously. Dizziness or fatigue may occur when driving or operating machinery, so caution is needed. The components of this medicine can affect liver and kidney function, thus requiring regular examinations and medical monitoring. Interactions may occur when taking other medications, so inform your doctor or pharmacist of any medications you are currently taking. If pregnant or breastfeeding, do not take this medication, and women planning to become pregnant should use appropriate contraception. Its safety and efficacy have not been established in children under 18 years of age, thus it is not recommended. In elderly patients, start at a lower dose and increase it carefully, paying attention to the potential adverse effects of excessive blood pressure reduction. In case of overdose, there is a risk of severe hypotension, cardiac problems, and renal function deterioration, so visit a medical institution immediately. If experiencing unusual symptoms like muscle pain, muscle weakness, severe skin reactions, or difficulty breathing while taking this drug, consult a doctor immediately.
