Precautions

This medication contains lactose and should not be used in patients with a genetic condition that affects lactose digestion. Additionally, patients who exhibit allergic reactions to this medication or other H2 receptor antagonists should not take it. Patients who have difficulty swallowing should also generally avoid this medication. Patients experiencing unexplained weight loss or persistent abdominal pain should use this medication cautiously, as there may be other underlying conditions necessitating attention. Patients with kidney diseases should check blood calcium levels before use. Patients taking other medications must consult a physician or pharmacist before starting this drug, as antacid components may interact with other medicines. Rarely, severe allergic reactions, such as anaphylaxis, can occur when taking this medication. Impaired liver function may manifest, and gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea or diarrhea may also occur occasionally. Constipation, loss of appetite, abdominal discomfort, and vomiting are rare side effects that may arise, along with skin rashes or itching. Symptoms such as headaches, fatigue, hepatitis, arthralgia, and muscle cramps have also been reported infrequently. If symptoms do not improve after two weeks of treatment, it is advisable to discontinue use and consult a doctor, as this could indicate another disease. Long-term use beyond two weeks is not recommended. In cases of exceeding the prescribed dosage, immediate cessation of use and consultation with a professional are necessary. There is a risk that the efficacy may decrease when patients undergoing dialysis use this medication in conjunction with phosphate binders. The antacid included in this drug may interact with various medications, so if taking other drugs, they should be taken at least two hours apart. Notably, co-administration with salicylic acid can increase salicylic acid excretion via the kidneys. Avoid combining with other gastrointestinal medications, as this may intensify efficacy and lead to unexpected side effects. It is advisable for pregnant women or those who might become pregnant not to take this medication. Although no teratogenic effects have been reported in animal studies, complete safety cannot be assured. Nursing mothers are also advised against using this medication as it may be transmitted through breast milk to the baby. Children under the age of 15 should consult a physician before use. This medication should be stored out of reach of children and kept in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Furthermore, to maintain quality, it should not be transferred to another container.
