Precautions

This medication may increase the risk of venous thromboembolism, which can block blood vessels. Patients at risk for this should consult a specialist before using this medication, and it should be discontinued if mobility is significantly restricted for a long period. As this medication is primarily metabolized in the liver, its use is not recommended for patients with poor liver function, and liver function tests should be monitored periodically. Its safety and efficacy have not been established in premenopausal women, so it is not used for this population. It should not be used for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, and it should be administered cautiously in postmenopausal women who already have heart diseases or are at high risk. The use of this medication in conjunction with systemic estrogen is not recommended. Pregnant or potentially pregnant women, as well as breastfeeding mothers, should not take this medication. Patients with a history of thrombosis, liver dysfunction, uterine bleeding, or suspected endometrial cancer symptoms should also refrain from using this medication. Those with genetic issues such as lactose intolerance should not take this medication. Caution is required in patients with high triglyceride levels or poor kidney function. During treatment, side effects such as leg cramps, facial flushing, cold symptoms, and peripheral edema may occur, and in severe cases, thrombosis may develop, so consultation with medical staff should be sought immediately if any abnormal symptoms arise. This medication is used for the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis, and if uterine bleeding occurs during use, expert evaluation is required. Patients with a history of breast cancer or abnormal breast symptoms should also consult a specialist. Adequate intake of calcium and vitamin D is necessary, and it is advisable to improve smoking and drinking habits. While the interactions with other medications are typically low, caution is necessary with certain medications, so patients should inform their doctor of any other medications they are taking. This medication is intended solely for postmenopausal women and should not be used in children or men. In the event of an overdose, symptoms like leg cramps and dizziness may occur, so prescribed dosages should be strictly followed. During storage, keep out of reach of children and do not transfer to another container.
