This medication is used to relieve symptoms of heartburn due to excessive stomach acid and indigestion.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults and patients aged 15 and older take 1 tablet at a time. Do not exceed 2 tablets in 24 hours.

Precautions

This medicine contains lactose; therefore, it should not be used by patients who have a genetic intolerance to lactose. Additionally, it should not be taken if there is an allergy to this drug or similar medications. Individuals who have difficulty swallowing tablets should also avoid this medication. Patients experiencing unexplained weight loss or persistent abdominal pain should use this medication with caution and consult a doctor as there may be other conditions involved. Patients with kidney disease should check calcium levels in the blood before taking this medication for safety. If you are taking other medications, it is essential to consult with a doctor or pharmacist before starting this medication, especially since antacids can interact with other drugs. Rarely, severe allergic reactions may occur, and liver function abnormalities may also arise while taking this medication. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as occasional nausea or diarrhea can occur, and constipation, loss of appetite, abdominal discomfort, abdominal bloating, vomiting, and dry mouth may occur in rare instances. Skin reactions like rashes, itching, and hives may occur infrequently, and in very rare cases, symptoms such as skin peeling may develop. Headaches may occur occasionally, and in rare cases, fatigue, jaundice, hepatitis, swelling, joint pain, and muscle cramps may be experienced. If symptoms do not improve after two weeks of use, discontinue the medication and consult a doctor as there may be other underlying conditions. It is advisable not to take this medication for more than two weeks, and if overdosed, stop taking it immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Patients on dialysis should be cautious when using this drug alongside phosphate binders as the effectiveness may decrease. The antacid contained in this medication can interact with several other drugs; therefore, it is best to maintain a gap of at least 2 hours between medications if possible. Also, it is not advisable to take this medication with other gastrointestinal drugs as this may enhance the effects and lead to unexpected side effects.
