This medication is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease, particularly erosive reflux esophagitis. It is also effective for long-term maintenance therapy to prevent relapse in patients with esophagitis. It alleviates symptoms in patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease who do not have esophagitis. This drug suppresses gastric acid secretion to prevent damage to the esophageal mucosa and improve symptoms. Therefore, it is actively recommended for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease and symptom relief.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication should be taken on an empty stomach at least 1 hour before meals. Swallow it whole with at least half a cup of water. Do not take with other beverages besides water. Precautions

This drug should not be administered to those with allergies to this drug or its ingredients or who have experienced hypersensitivity. Additionally, patients taking certain antiviral agents, nursing women, and individuals with a history of heart disease should not use this medication. Caution is necessary for those with liver or kidney issues, elderly individuals, and those with severe gastrointestinal ulcers. Patients with electrolyte imbalances or those needing to restrict sodium intake should also be cautious. This medication can cause various side effects; therefore, if unusual symptoms such as headache, dizziness, dyspepsia, skin rash, or muscle pain occur, immediate consultation with healthcare personnel is required. Regular check-ups to monitor health status are important during long-term use. This drug may interact with other medications, so be sure to inform healthcare personnel of any drugs currently being taken, particularly when combined with anticoagulants, antivirals, and antidepressants. It is advisable not to use this medication during pregnancy or lactation unless necessary, in which case consultation with healthcare personnel is required. There is no specific antidote for overdose; therefore, seek hospital treatment immediately for appropriate care. Store out of reach of children and do not transfer to other containers.
