Relief of musculoskeletal pain and spasms (lumbar pain, cervical radiculopathy, etc.)
This medication is used to relieve pain and muscle spasms associated with musculoskeletal disorders. For example, it is effective for conditions such as lower back pain, pain in the neck and shoulders, cervical radiculopathy, periarthritis of the shoulder, and degenerative spine disease. By improving these symptoms, it helps patients to feel more comfortable in their daily life. Therefore, it is used to relieve musculoskeletal pain and contractions.
Adults: 200-400 mg of chlorzoxazone orally 3-4 times a day. Adjust dosage appropriately based on age and symptoms.
This medication can rarely cause serious liver damage. If abnormalities in liver function occur, symptoms such as fever, rash, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, headache, changes in urine color, and jaundice may appear, and in such cases, the medication should be discontinued immediately and a doctor consulted. Patients with liver disease must consult a physician before taking this medication. Patients with allergic reactions or intolerance to this medication should not take it. It also contains lactose, so patients with lactose intolerance should not use this medication. Patients with weak liver or kidney function, and those with a history of drug allergies should use this medication cautiously. If symptoms of hypersensitivity such as rash, itching, or hives occur during use, the medication should be discontinued. If drowsiness, dizziness, staggering, lethargy, or hypersensitivity occurs, the dosage may be reduced or the medication may be discontinued. Liver dysfunction may rarely occur, so immediate consultation with a doctor is necessary if abnormal symptoms develop. Gastrointestinal symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, heartburn, stomach discomfort, diarrhea, constipation, and epigastric pain, and rarely gastrointestinal bleeding may occur. Allergic skin rashes or bleeding, angioedema, and severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) may occur, so caution is advised. Additionally, some ingredients in this medication may cause changes in urine color. This medication may cause drowsiness or decreased concentration, so driving or operating hazardous machinery should be avoided during use. Interaction may be enhanced when taken with certain medications or alcohol, so it is best to avoid taking it with phenothiazine medications, central nervous system depressants, or MAO inhibitors. If it must be taken together, caution such as reducing the dosage should be exercised. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully consider taking this medication, and breastfeeding mothers should discontinue nursing. Safety for children has not been established, so this medication should only be used when the benefits outweigh the risks.
