This medication helps to control blood lipid levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia. It is used particularly to lower total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, apo-B protein, and triglyceride levels, while increasing HDL cholesterol levels to improve vascular health. This effect is enhanced when combined with a proper diet. Ultimately, this drug contributes to reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases through the improvement of blood lipid profiles.

Rarely, a serious side effect associated with muscle damage known as rhabdomyolysis may occur, so if symptoms such as muscle pain or weakness arise, it is essential to inform medical personnel immediately. Before and during treatment, regular liver function tests should be conducted to monitor liver health, and blood lipid levels should be monitored to assess therapeutic efficacy. This medication should be used alongside dietary and exercise therapies, and cardiovascular risk factors such as hypertension or smoking should also be managed. Pregnant or nursing women should avoid this medication due to potential risks to the fetus or newborn, and women planning to become pregnant should consult with medical personnel before use.
