Improvement of blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes
This medication is used in conjunction with diet and exercise to help control blood sugar in patients with type 2 diabetes. It can be administered alone or in combination with other medications to manage blood sugar more effectively. This helps maintain stable blood sugar levels and prevents complications of diabetes. Proper use according to the patient's condition supports healthy blood sugar control.
This medication can be administered as monotherapy or, in cases where there is no prior experience with diabetes medication, when combined with metformin, it is recommended to take 50mg once daily in the morning or 100mg in divided doses of 50mg twice a day in the morning and evening. If adequate blood sugar control is not achieved with monotherapy using metformin or thiazolidinedione, the recommended dose when this medication is used in combination should be 100mg once daily.
This medication should not be used in patients with known allergic reactions to the active ingredient or any other component. This medication is not suitable for patients with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Particular attention should be paid to hypoglycemia symptoms when using this medication in conjunction with drugs that can induce hypoglycemia, such as sulfonylureas or insulin, and dosage adjustment may be necessary as needed. In patients with heart failure and severely reduced cardiac function, the use of this medication is not recommended.
