Precautions

This medication contains the antibiotic clindamycin and should not be used by individuals with certain allergies or medical conditions. For example, those who are allergic to clindamycin or lincomycin, those with a history of certain enterocolitis, pregnant or nursing women, and children under the age of 12 should not use this medication. Additionally, because this medication contains propylene glycol, individuals allergic to this ingredient should use it cautiously. Those with allergic conditions like atopic dermatitis should consult a doctor or pharmacist before using this medication. If symptoms such as dryness, irritation, itching, or redness occur on the skin, or if gastrointestinal issues like abdominal pain or diarrhea arise while using the medication, it should be stopped immediately and advice sought from a specialist. In particular, if diarrhea or colitis symptoms worsen, further testing such as endoscopy may be necessary. It is recommended to use this medication for only the necessary minimum duration to prevent the development of resistant bacteria. Clindamycin, when administered orally or via injection, can cause severe colitis, and localized use can also result in similar side effects due to absorption through the skin. Diarrhea or colitis symptoms can appear weeks after using the medication, so use must be discontinued immediately if symptoms occur. In severe cases of colitis, proper fluid and nutritional supplementation treatment may be necessary, and some medications may worsen symptoms, so caution is advised. If this medication comes into contact with the eyes or mucous membranes, irritation may occur, and if contact happens accidentally, it should be rinsed thoroughly with clean water immediately. It is safest for pregnant or nursing women to avoid using this medication, and they must consult with a professional when using it. For children under 12, the safety and effectiveness of this medication have not been established, so use should be avoided. Excessive use may affect the whole body, so the specified dosage must be strictly adhered to, and the medication should be kept out of reach of children. Store the medication in its original container, keeping the lid tightly closed to maintain its quality.
