This medication is used to treat symptoms of moderate to severe Alzheimer's type dementia.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication should be taken once daily right before bedtime and can be administered regardless of food intake. The initial recommended dose of Donepezil Hydrochloride is 5mg taken once daily. After administering 5mg for 4-6 weeks, the clinical response should be assessed, and it may be increased to 10mg. When increasing to 10mg per day, caution should be taken for gastrointestinal adverse reactions. Patients may take 10mg once daily for at least 3 months.

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by women who are allergic to certain ingredients, are pregnant or breastfeeding, and patients with lactase deficiency. Patients with heart disease, a history of gastric ulcers, asthma, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease should use this medication with caution and closely monitor their condition under medical supervision.
