View approved original text

This medication is used in conjunction with diet and exercise to help control blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. It can also be administered as monotherapy, and in cases where sufficient blood glucose control is difficult in patients with no prior experience of diabetes medication therapy, it can be used in combination with metformin. Additionally, if blood glucose control is challenging with monotherapies such as sulfonylureas, metformin, thiazolidinediones, or insulin, this medication can be added for combined therapy. If blood glucose control is still insufficient with complex combination therapies, this medication can be added to enhance treatment efficacy. This drug is used to improve blood glucose control in various situations.
