Summary

Main use
Relief of the symptoms and signs of osteoarthritis (degenerative arthritis)
Who takes it
Adults
Adult dose
Before administering this medicine, consider its potential risks and benefits and those of alternative treatments. Because cardiovascular risk increases with higher doses and longer exposure to this medicine, use it for the shortest possible duration. Adverse reactions such as hypertension, congestive heart failure, and edema may occur during treatment. Reassess the patient's symptom relief, whether treatment should continue, and response to treatment regularly at least monthly. This medicine may be taken with or without food. Adults: The recommended dose is 30 mg once daily; do not exceed 30mg per day. If there is no therapeutic benefit at the recommended dose, discontinue this medicine and consider an appropriate alternative treatment. Patients with hepatic impairment: No dosage adjustment is necessary in patients with mild or moderate hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh score 5-9). However, use this medicine with caution in patients with moderate hepatic impairment because experience with its use in these patients is limited. Do not administer this medicine to patients with severe hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh score >9), as there is no experience with its use in these patients. Patients with renal impairment: No dosage adjustment is necessary in patients with mild or moderate renal impairment (creatinine clearance 30 mL/min or higher). Do not administer this medicine to patients with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance less than 30 mL/min). Older adults: No dosage adjustment is necessary in older adults.

Precautions

This medication carries a higher risk of gastrointestinal bleeding in people who regularly consume three or more alcoholic drinks daily, so consultation with a physician or pharmacist is essential. This medication may affect the cardiovascular system and increase the risk of serious cardiovascular diseases such as myocardial infarction or stroke. Patients with cardiovascular diseases or risk factors should exercise caution and take the minimum dose for the shortest duration necessary. As a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, this medication can cause serious gastrointestinal side effects such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, and perforations, particularly in elderly patients or those with a history of gastrointestinal disorders. Patients with allergic reactions to this medication or a history of hypersensitivity to aspirin and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should not use it. Certain patient populations, such as those with uncontrolled hypertension, heart failure, severely impaired kidney or liver function, active peptic ulcer disease, and pregnant or breastfeeding women, should not be treated with this medication. Dizziness and drowsiness may occasionally occur, so driving or operating machinery should be avoided after taking the medication. This medication may interact with other drugs, so it is crucial to inform healthcare providers, especially if taking anticoagulants, diuretics, ACE inhibitors, or oral contraceptives. The use of this medication during pregnancy, particularly in the late stages, may harm the fetus, so women who are pregnant or at risk of pregnancy should avoid taking it, and if pregnancy is confirmed during treatment, it should be immediately discontinued. The safety and efficacy of this medication in children under 18 years of age have not been established, so it is advisable not to use it in this population. In elderly patients, reduced kidney, liver, and heart function may require more careful observation and management during treatment. Patients on long-term therapy with this medication should have regular blood tests and checks on liver and kidney function, and any unusual symptoms should prompt immediate consultation with healthcare professionals. Overdosage may result in symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and lethargy, requiring prompt medical treatment. This medication must be stored out of reach of children and should not be transferred to other containers.
