Adult dose

This medication is administered at a dose of 100 mg once daily as monotherapy or in combination therapy, with a maximum daily dose of 100 mg. It can be taken without regard to meals. In patients with renal impairment, dose adjustments are necessary based on kidney function. No dose adjustment is needed for patients with mild to moderate renal impairment (eGFR 45 to <90). For patients with an eGFR between 30 and 45, administer 50 mg once daily.

This medication can cause severe allergic reactions, so if symptoms such as skin rash or difficulty breathing occur after administration, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician. Pancreatitis, a severe inflammation of the pancreas, may occur during treatment with this medication, so if symptoms like abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting occur, seek medical attention immediately. This medication should not be used in patients with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis, and it should be avoided in patients who are allergic to this medication or its components. Patients with impaired kidney function may have difficulty excreting the medication, so dose adjustments should be made under medical supervision. The risk of hypoglycemia may increase when this medication is used in combination with other diabetes treatments, so careful monitoring is required to prevent hypoglycemic symptoms. Patients may experience severe joint pain during treatment with this medication, and any such symptoms should be reported to a physician, who may consider discontinuation of the medication if necessary. If blisters or rashes develop on the skin, report it to a physician immediately and receive appropriate diagnosis and treatment. Pregnant or breastfeeding women are advised not to use this medication, and safety has not been established for children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Elderly patients may experience decreased kidney function, so regular kidney function tests and dose adjustments are recommended. In case of overdose, seek medical attention immediately, as this medication can be partially removed through dialysis. There may be interactions when taking this medication with certain other drugs, so inform your physician or pharmacist if you are taking any other medications.
