Precautions

This medicine should not be taken by patients with hypercalcemia—excessive calcium in the blood—or patients suffering from sarcoidosis, a systemic inflammatory disease of unknown origin, and those with kidney disorders. Additionally, individuals allergic to any component of this medicine, infants under 12 months, patients with kidney stones, and those with severe renal failure symptoms should not take this medication. It is safe to avoid taking medications such as phosphates, calcium salts, oral tetracycline antibiotics, antacids, and drugs like levodopa during treatment with this medication. Children under one year old, patients currently receiving treatment in a hospital, children exposed to sunlight frequently, pregnant women or women of childbearing potential, nursing mothers, premature infants, and infants must consult with a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. Particularly, caution is needed as the vitamin D component can be secreted into breast milk and may cause hypercalcemia in newborns. Patients with heart or circulatory problems, those with impaired kidney function, patients with hypoproteinemia, and those with a history of kidney stones should also consult with specialists before using this medication. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, skin rashes, oral inflammation, decreased appetite, cardiac arrhythmia, or nerve function decline occur, stop taking the medication immediately and consult a doctor or pharmacist. It's important to stop use and seek professional advice if menstrual cycles become more frequent or if bleeding persists. Furthermore, be cautious as taking vitamin E with estrogen-containing oral contraceptives might increase the risk of thrombosis. High-dose and long-term use of pyridoxine (vitamin B6) can cause nerve disorders, so dosage should be adhered to. Patients with folic acid deficiency should be cautious when receiving high doses of vitamin B12, as it may lead to hematological abnormal reactions. Taking large doses may exacerbate gastric ulcers, disrupt glucose metabolism, increase blood uric acid, and cause liver damage; therefore, prescribed dosages should be strictly followed. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as gastrointestinal disturbances, hypernatremia, heart failure, and edema may occur, particularly when taken with certain diuretics, potentially elevating blood potassium levels to dangerous levels; hence caution is essential. If symptoms do not improve after one month of use, it is recommended to consult a doctor. This medication must be strictly administered according to recommended usage and dosage, and supervision by a guardian is required when administering to children. Urine may turn yellow during use, which may affect clinical test results, so keep this in mind. It is advisable to avoid teas containing tannins, such as green tea or black tea, before and after taking this medication. Finally, this medication should be stored out of reach of children, away from direct sunlight, and in a cool, dry place in a tightly sealed container. It is safest not to transfer the product to a different container for quality maintenance.
