Treatment of ocular inflammation such as blepharitis and conjunctivitis
This medication is used for various inflammatory diseases of the eye, including blepharitis, conjunctivitis, keratitis, scleritis, and uveitis, as well as inflammation following surgery.
Instill 1-2 drops 2-4 times a day. In the first 1-2 days, it may be used hourly if necessary. Adjust according to symptoms.
This medication should not be used in patients with viral keratitis or conjunctival diseases. Specifically, it should not be administered during infections such as herpetic keratitis, smallpox, or chickenpox. It should also not be used in cases of fungal infections or mycobacterial infections, such as ocular tuberculosis. Patients with untreated purulent infections should also avoid this medication. Patients who have had allergic reactions to this medication should not use it, and those with corneal epithelium damage or ulcers should avoid it due to the risk of corneal perforation. Caution should be exercised when using this medication in glaucoma patients or children. Children may experience adrenal suppression if used in high doses for an extended period. When using this medication, side effects such as allergic reactions, headache, increased eye pressure, cataracts, eye infection or irritation, blurred vision, and pain may occur. Using this medication on congested eyes without a physician's diagnosis may risk vision loss, so it should be strictly used under a specialist's guidance. With prolonged use, eye conditions like glaucoma or cataracts can develop, so regular eye pressure and lens checks are necessary. If blurred vision or visual disturbances occur while using this medication, consult a doctor immediately. Patients with a history of herpes simplex should have regular checks to ensure corneal conditions do not worsen while using this medication. If wearing contact lenses, remove them before applying the medication and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting. If inflammation or pain persists or worsens after 48 hours, cease use and consult a physician. There may be temporary blurred vision after instillation, so it is advisable to avoid driving or operating dangerous machinery. Extra caution is needed if infected with or at risk of chickenpox or measles, with verification of vaccination status and medical history. Long-term use of this medication may delay wound healing and suppress pituitary or adrenal cortex function, so care should be taken. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should carefully consider the risks and benefits of this medication's use, and long-term use should be avoided. Children and elderly patients require special caution as their physiological functions are weaker, increasing the risk of side effects. This medication is for ophthalmic use only, and the opening of the container should not come into contact with the eye or other surfaces to prevent contamination. After use, store in a cool, dry place out of reach of children, and do not transfer to another container.
Hives, increased intraocular pressure, ocular penetration (scleral or corneal perforation), ocular infections (including bacterial, fungal, viral), keratitis, corneal ulcer, corneal melting, acute anterior uveitis, conjunctivitis, conjunctival hemorrhage, ptosis, and paralysis of accommodation
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
