This medication helps to lower total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, Apo B, triglyceride, and non-HDL cholesterol levels, while raising HDL cholesterol levels, when used in conjunction with dietary measures in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia. In patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, it is used alone when other lipid-lowering therapies are not effective or as an adjunct to other lipid-lowering treatments. This medication is effective for patients with a high risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease caused by hypercholesterolemia, and it is important to combine it with appropriate dietary and non-pharmacological measures. It is essential to identify and treat secondary causes of dyslipidemia, such as diabetes and hypothyroidism, before treatment, and to regularly monitor treatment effectiveness with lipid tests. Overall, this medication is effectively used for the management and treatment of dyslipidemia.
