View approved original text

This medication is used to help control blood sugar in patients with type 2 diabetes. Initially, it may be administered alone, and if blood sugar control is difficult with monotherapy, it can be taken in combination with metformin. Additionally, it can complement blood sugar control when used together with other diabetes medications such as sulfonylureas, thiazolidinediones, and insulin. When various combination therapies are insufficient for blood sugar control, this medication can be added to enhance treatment efficacy. This medication helps improve blood sugar control in conjunction with diet and exercise therapy.
