This medication helps lower high total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia. It is particularly used as an adjunct therapy when dietary control is insufficient, effectively reducing bad cholesterol and triglyceride levels while increasing good HDL cholesterol levels. Additionally, it can be used in homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia when other treatments are difficult to combine or substitute. This medication aids in improving blood lipid levels in patients at risk of cardiovascular disease, thereby promoting vascular health. It is important to check for other conditions or medication influences before treatment and to continue taking it steadily with dietary adjustments. This medication is used to treat hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia.
