This drug is used as an adjunct to diet to reduce elevated total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, Apo B, triglycerides, and non-HDL-cholesterol levels, and to increase HDL-cholesterol levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia. Additionally, it may be administered to patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia when other lipid-lowering therapies are not effective or a combination therapy is needed. This drug helps manage the risk of atherosclerotic vascular diseases due to hypercholesterolemia by controlling lipid levels. It should be used together with an appropriate diet and managing secondary causes of dyslipidemia such as diabetes and hypothyroidism. This drug is used to improve lipid levels and support cardiovascular health.
