This medication helps in reducing elevated total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, Apo B protein, triglycerides, and non-HDL cholesterol, and increasing HDL cholesterol in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia. It is also used as an adjunct to other lipid-lowering therapies in patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, or in cases where existing treatment is insufficient. This medication should be used in conjunction with dietary modification during dyslipidemia treatment, and it is important to identify and manage secondary causes such as diabetes and hypothyroidism before treatment. Additionally, during the treatment process, regular checks of total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, and triglyceride levels are conducted for proper management. This treatment contributes to reducing the risk of atherosclerotic vascular diseases due to hypercholesterolemia. Therefore, this medication is effectively used for the treatment of dyslipidemia.
