This medication is used to lower high cholesterol and triglyceride levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia, and to increase levels of good cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol. It is particularly effective in patients with familial hypercholesterolemia and can also be used as an adjunct to other therapies. Additionally, it is important to take this medication along with an appropriate diet to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. In cases of secondary causes (e.g., diabetes, hypothyroidism), these must be treated first, and regular lipid tests should be performed to confirm treatment effectiveness. This medication plays a significant role in the treatment of dyslipidemia and is used to improve patients' blood lipid status.
