This medication is used as an adjunct to dietary therapy in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia or mixed dyslipidemia, effectively reducing total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, Apo B protein, triglycerides, and non-HDL cholesterol while increasing HDL cholesterol. Additionally, it is administered as an adjunct to other treatments in patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia or used alone when other treatments are ineffective. This medication helps to lower the risk of cardiovascular diseases by properly controlling blood lipid levels. During treatment, it is essential to monitor lipid levels and assess the patient's overall condition and secondary causes, and it should be used alongside an appropriate diet. Considering these aspects, it is used safely and effectively to regulate blood lipids.
