This drug is used to control blood lipid levels related to cholesterol in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia. Specifically, it helps reduce total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, Apo B protein, triglycerides, and non-HDL cholesterol while increasing good cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol. It may be used as an adjunct to existing lipid-lowering therapy in patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia or when other treatments are ineffective. This drug should be used in conjunction with an appropriate diet, and it is important to manage secondary causes such as diabetes and hypothyroidism. Treatment should be initiated based on blood lipid test results and is particularly beneficial for patients at high risk of cardiovascular disease. This drug is used to improve hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia.
