This drug helps lower total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, Apo B protein, triglycerides, and non-HDL-cholesterol levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia, while increasing HDL-cholesterol. It also helps control cholesterol levels in patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, when used in conjunction with other lipid-lowering therapies or on its own. This drug should be used in conjunction with appropriate dietary management, and it is important to administer it after identifying and treating other secondary causes. It serves as a safe and effective treatment option for those at high risk for atherosclerotic vascular disease due to hypercholesterolemia. Therefore, this drug is used for the treatment of dyslipidemia.
