This medication helps lower elevated total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, Apo B, triglycerides, and non-HDL cholesterol levels, and increases HDL cholesterol levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia. It is particularly used in patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia as an adjunct or alternative therapy to other treatments. This therapy should be combined with an appropriate dietary regimen to reduce the risk of atherosclerotic vascular disease, and it is important to evaluate and treat any other secondary causes of disease first. Regular monitoring of total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, and triglyceride levels is recommended during treatment, and lipid levels should be checked promptly in case of acute coronary events. This medication improves blood lipid status through safe and effective lipid management.
