Adult dosage
This medication is to be taken once daily without regard to meals. For primary hypercholesterolemia, the dosage range is 10/10 mg to 10/80 mg daily. The recommended starting dose is 10/10 mg or 10/20 mg once daily. For patients requiring a greater reduction in LDL-cholesterol (more than 55%), a starting dose of 10/40 mg once daily is recommended. After initiation of therapy or dose adjustment, a follow-up lipid test should be performed after an interval of at least 2 weeks.

This medication helps to reduce levels of total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, apoprotein B, triglycerides, and non-HDL-cholesterol in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia, and it increases HDL-cholesterol levels. It is also used as an adjunctive therapy for patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia or when alternative treatments are not suitable. This medication is used in conjunction with appropriate dietary therapy and is recommended when dietary management alone is insufficient. It is important to evaluate and treat other causes of dyslipidemia, and to monitor treatment effects through regular lipid tests. This medication is one of the important treatment methods to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

Dosage and Administration

Precautions

This medication contains atorvastatin and ezetimibe, and is used to lower blood cholesterol levels. Before taking this medication, caution is advised as symptoms such as muscle pain or weakness may occur, especially for patients at high risk of severe myopathy or rhabdomyolysis. If serious muscle symptoms occur, inform your doctor immediately and discontinue use of the medication, and you may need to undergo muscle-related tests. Patients with liver dysfunction or a history of liver disease should avoid this medication. Women who are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are breast-feeding should not use this medication.
