Improvement of lipids through reduction of cholesterol and increase of HDL in hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia
This medication helps lower total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, Apo B, triglycerides, and non-HDL-cholesterol levels while increasing HDL-cholesterol levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia. It is also used in patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia either as adjunctive therapy or as an alternative therapy. This medication should be taken in conjunction with an appropriate dietary regimen and is used when dietary management alone is insufficient. Before treatment, other causes of dyslipidemia should be investigated and treated if necessary. In the case of acute coronary events, lipids should be quickly assessed to guide treatment decisions. Overall, this medication contributes to reducing the risk of vascular diseases associated with hypercholesterolemia.
This medication is administered once daily regardless of meals. The recommended initial dose is 10/10 mg or 10/20 mg daily. For patients requiring more significant reduction in LDL-cholesterol (55% or more), an initial dose of 10/40 mg is recommended. The recommended dose for patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia is 10/40 mg or 10/80 mg daily. After starting treatment with this medication or making adjustments to the dose, lipid levels should be measured at intervals of at least 2 weeks to guide further adjustments.

During treatment, side effects such as headaches, dizziness, dyspepsia, myalgia, arthralgia, and more may occur; inform your healthcare provider if symptoms are severe.
